Sharing Your Finds
Each year, people like you contact us to learn more about objects they have found. Some of these objects have even become part of our collection. This biface, a stone tool flaked on both sides, was generously donated to the museum by a member of the public whose father found it along the shores of the Mira River in Cape Breton. Made from a single piece of rhyolite roughly 4000 years ago, it would have been useful for hunting and other activities that required a hefty blade.
