Stephen Powell

Archaeology Assistant Curator

Stephen Powell is our Assistant Curator of Archaeology. With 35 years of experience in this field in Atlantic Canada, Stephen has worked with the museum’s archaeology collection and database since 1990. He is proud of the diversity of the objects that make up our collection. “It is multicultural, representing all regions of the province and spanning a period of 13,000 years.” While Stephen works with all aspects of archaeological material culture, he takes a special interest in 19th-century ceramics.

Stephen retired in January 2018.
