Lisa Bower
History Collections Assistant Curator and Registrar
Lisa Bower is our Assistant Curator of History Collections. Her appreciation for old things began in her grandparents’ home. “My grandparents had family heirlooms and other objects that had been handed down – objects with a lot of personal meaning and with great stories behind them.” Naturally, she pursued her interest in all things old while studying Anthropology and History at Saint Mary’s University and working for an auction company. After graduating, Lisa began working at museums in Shelburne, Barrington and Liverpool. Since joining the NSM full time, Lisa has worked on a variety of projects including exhibit renewal at the Fundy Geological Museum in Parrsboro, and the Perkins House Museum in Liverpool. Lisa continues to focus on revealing the human story behind everyday objects.
