Archaeology at Fort Saint-Louis - Part 4
Another beautiful day at the archaeology site. We often see local fisherman at work in Port La Tour Harbour.
We began opeing up new units this week in areas where we found evidence of daily life at the fort in 2017.
Teamwork is important on a dig. Thomasina and John work to ready a line of stone for photography.
The team takes time regularly for fieldnotes.
The trash midden feature continues to produce many artifacts. As expected, a layer of stone is coming up. This is not the end! Below the stone is another layer of material.
Heather joined us today and worked very hard in her unit. Screening her buckets of soil helped to catch very small items hard to see in the pit.
