A Great White Mystery
Why do shark teeth keep popping up at a dig in the Annapolis Valley? We don’t know. Did they have symbolic meaning or some practical value? What we do know is that the site on a Kings County lake was a significant gathering place for people, beginning about 5000 years ago.
Adding to the story, the teeth come from a Great White shark or sharks. The serrated edges you see helped us identify them. The blue hue was likely caused by heat, maybe at a cooking or warming hearth. But for now, their purpose remains a mystery.
