Daily Museum Programs

These programs happen every day, Monday through Sunday.

  • 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm | Learn in the Lab (Drop-in) Visit the Nature Lab to meet the critters that live there and chat with a Naturalist.
  • 3:00 pm | Gus Walk Join Gus, our 103-year-old gopher tortoise, for a snack and a stroll. He has been a beloved part of the Museum for over 80 years!

  • 2:00 pm | Snack Time with Nova Scotia Wildlife Learn what native animals eat and how they connect to their surroundings as we feed and care for them.

Saturday

  • 0:00 am | Snack Time With...Nova Scotia Wildlife You'll find some of Nova Scotia's rich biodiversity living at the Museum. Learn what animals eat and how it connects them to their surroundings. Join us as we feed and care for a variety of native animals
  • 11:00 am | Prehistoric Planet Have you ever wondered what colour dinosaurs really were? Learn how modern scientists are developing a vibrant understanding of how dinosaurs looked and behaved through advances in electron microscopy and paleobiology.
  • 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm (drop-in) | Learn in the Lab Visit the Nature Lab and get to know some of the critters that call the Lab home, and chat with a Naturalist.
  • 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm (drop-in) | Who’s That Dinosaur? Ever wonder what the prefixes and suffixes of a dinosaur’s name tell us about that dinosaur? Confused about which dinosaurs lived during which time period? Learn what’s in a name and when your favourite dinosaur lived.
  • 3:00 pm | Gus Walk At 103, Gus, the oldest known gopher tortoise, has been at the Museum for over 80 years. Why not join Gus for a snack and a stroll?
