For a glimpse behind the scenes, take a look into Storage Room One, the largest of our three onsite storage areas and home to some truly big artifacts.
With more than 36,000 objects in our collection, the items on display represent only a small portion of what we care for. We collect more than we can exhibit because artifacts are essential to telling Nova Scotia’s industrial story. Together, they represent the wide range of industries, experiences, and innovations that have shaped life in the province, past and present. Preserving these artifacts ensures that we, and future generations, can better understand how people lived and worked here. Our collection supports research, temporary exhibitions, and loans to museums and communities across the province.
