Ross Farm Museum invites you to view the artwork of 93-year-old Peter Bornhym.
Peter was born in Amsterdam in 1930 and migrated to Canada in 1954.
A pastry chef by trade, he worked in Amsterdam, Toronto, West Palm Beach and owned Star Bakery in Chatham, NB from 1959 to 1976. Upon retiring he, and his wife Helen, moved to East River Point in 1987. His daily 10 to 14 km walks quickly introduced him to the residents in the community. Over the years he has lived in this community, he was known to keep a large garden, regularly go fishing in a small boat that he owned and visited daily with an elderly neighbor.
In 2014, at the age of 84 Peter began his journey as a painter. At 87 he shattered the humerus of his left dominant arm leaving him unable to paint. Rather than giving up he began the challenging task of learning to paint using his nondominant hand. To date, he has created over seventy paintings.
Peter will be on site from 1:00 to 3:00 pm on Saturday, August 3rd, 2024. He and Ross Farm Museum invite you to visit with him and view his artwork.
