Before the arrival of machines, work that was too hard for humans was carried out by highly trained animals. For hundreds of years, the Ox has helped to do everything from preparing the land, to moving heavy loads. This weekend you will have the opportunity to see the oxen at Ross Farm at work, chat with the teamster, and learn what made Oxen so important to settlers in rural Nova Scotia.
