Discover the White Star Line connections to two Nova Scotia marine tragedies. Learn about the histories of SS Atlantic, RMS Titanic, and SS Imo (built by White Start Line, and named Runic), with details of the recovery efforts; similarities and differences; effects on Halifax, and how this history is still relevant today.

Deanna (Dee) Ryan-Meister, researcher, and maritime marine historian, is President of Titanic Society of Atlantic Canada (TSAC). In April 2013, she hosted the inaugural TSAC meeting at Maritime Museum of the Atlantic. She has several articles published in Titanic Society journals and magazines globally and has presented on Titanic–Atlantic Canadian connections across Atlantic Canada, and in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
