Natural History Collage Night - Botanical Specimens

May 28, 2025
Museum of Natural History, Halifax

6 pm

Join us for a relaxing evening of creativity and exploration at the Nova Scotia Museum of Natural History creating collages inspired by the wonders of nature! The evening will be hosted by Brenna Frasier, Curator of Zoology and Sean Haughian, Curator of Botany.

The evening will start off with an exploration of some of the botanical specimens housed in the NSM Collections. Dr. Haughian will discuss the museum herbariums history and significance, and his research. We will then explore some collage techniques and create our own collage incorporating pressed plants!

We'll provide all the necessary materials, however, feel free to bring your own materials, if you have any specific ideas in mind. Whether you're an experienced artist or just starting out, this event is the perfect chance to explore a unique medium.

Please note that this event is geared toward adult attendees.
