Zoology Collection - The Lynx with Hare

Predator and Prey

Victorian-style taxidermy often tells a story. Here, the Lynx (Lynx Canadensis) has clearly gotten the better of this Snowshoe Hare (Lepus americanus). But that’s not the whole story. While the Hare came off second best, the overall population of Snowshoe Hare is doing quite well in Nova Scotia. The Lynx, on the other hand, has been listed as endangered since 2002.
